Friends,
This Sunday, Karen Donohue, the Director of Volunteer Services for HOME of Somerset County will be with us at the 9:15AM service.
You might know that over the past few months we completely transformed the rooms underneath the Parish Hall to serve multipurpose uses—but specifically to be able to offer temporary housing to local homeless families, as we begin a partnership with HOME of Somerset County.
We have rooms that are freshly painted and decorated that are ready to receive cots and bedding. The old Sunday School office was transformed into a kitchenette. A shower was added upstairs near the kitchen.
And, the last week of July our first families will be coming to stay with us! We’re going to need hosts, people to entertain the children, people to cook meals, and a few people to sleep overnight with them. It’s going to be a huge undertaking, but I am so very excited for all that we can do for these families, and all the joy and resilience that they will be able to share with us.
We hope to see you on Sunday as we welcome Karen Donohue.
