Food Pantry, Saturday, June 18, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Thanks to the generosity of the parish, we served 9 families in May 2022, 30 people.
Closing Out St. Mary's Year of the Eucharist. There is a Eucharistic Procession at the 9:30 Mass this Sunday.
Summer Mass Schedule. Beginning the weekend of June 25 & 26, 2022, the Mass schedule will change. on Saturday Mass is at 4:00 p.m.; on Sunday we will have 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. (Livestream) Mass.
VBS Cancelled. Vacation Bible School is cancelled for this year due to a lack of numbers. Thank you to those families who signed up, and to all of the Youth Ministry and other volunteers who were planning to work with us. We will try again next year!
Father Kunkel Update. Surgery on Tuesday went well. Father is resting comfortably in the hospital and anticipating a move into a rehabilitation center this weekend. Please keep him in your prayers.

Summer Contributions: First, I wish all of you a happy and safe summer. Our parish is dependent on your contributions, especially during vacation season. We, as you, must still pay the utilities, salaries, etc. If you use parish offertory envelopes and you are away for the weekend, I ask you to please make up your contribution the following weekend.
You can also consider joining WeShare, Electronic Funds Transfer. Your contributions will always be here even if you are away having fun in the sun. You can register online on the Giving page of the parish website, Forms can be picked up in the vestibule of the church or call the parish office, Ext. 22. Luncheon Bingo, July 5, 9:30 AM; Early Bird Games, 11:00 AM
Menu: Tuna Salad on Roll Macaroni Salad Tapioca Pudding
The menu may be subject to change due to inclement weather and or based on the availability of time for preparation.
Cost:
- Lunch, 16 games of bingo, 3 games to a card - $15.00
- Bingo and no lunch - $10.00
- Lunch and no bingo - $7.00.
For a small additional fee extra cards and cards for special games can be purchased. Large print bingo cards are available upon request.
The prize for the jackpot game is $200.00 for a win in 58 or fewer numbers. A consolation prize of $50.00 will be awarded for a win in more than 54 numbers.
For additional information or if you have any special dietary needs that prevent you from eating the offered meal, please contact the parish office (410452-5166, ext. 22) at least one week prior for an alternative option.
Just for Children, Ages 14 & Under: In July we will offer a free Bingo game at the end of the day at no extra cost.

9th Gr. High School Faith Formation Update. 9th Gr. HSFF Registration forms will be sent out at the end of June and uploaded to the Parish website for any student entering into 9th grade for the 2022-2023 School year. Students are encouraged to be a in a formation program prior to preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation in 10th Grade. We would love to have your incoming 9th grader join us for a year of Discipleship Formation. Happy Fathers’ Day! May all men follow the example of St. Joseph and use their fatherly gifts to protect and support the women and children in their lives.

Abortion, on the contrary, proclaims that a mother's choice is supreme. ‘Freedom of choice’ is considered enough to justify even the dismemberment of a baby. Choice divorced from truth is idolatry. It is the opposite of true worship. It pretends the creature is God. Real freedom is found only in submission to the truth and will of God. Eighth and Ninth Months (size: about 18 inches) In the last two months the baby continues to gain weight. She is developing a layer of fat that will keep her warm after birth. In the 9th month she will shift to a head-down position, preparing for birth. Her lungs are now fully developed and capable of making the transition to breathing air. After birth she will continue the human growth process for approximately the next 80 years.
We will celebrate the birth of our Spiritually-Adopted babies in July with a Baby Shower for BirthRight Crisis Pregnancy Center. Please watch for information.

“You’re invited to join Archbishop Lori’s Corpus Christi event at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 19 at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore. Join an Archdiocesan Mass and Eucharistic Procession for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The procession immediately follows Mass. This is a family-friendly event that includes free Kona Ice and kid’s bounce houses. First Communicants are welcome to wear their First Communion outfits.”
Fourth of July Frassati Cookout - In honor of Independence Day and the feast of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (both celebrated on the 4th of July), the Baltimore Frassati Fellowship at Saints Philip and James is hosting a cookout. The invitation is open to all Catholic young adults in the greater Baltimore area. Adorers Needed at the Basilica – Sign up to pray before Our Lord at the Pope Saint John Paul II Eucharistic Adoration Chapel located at the Basilica of the Assumption. Specifically, they are looking for adorers for the following times:

Solemn Vespers, Corpus Christi Sunday, June 19, 5 PM, Basilica of the Assumption 4:30 PM, a brief program of choral and organ preludes. The Basilica Schola Cantorum will sing the choral items of the prelude program and will lead the singing of the psalmody and Magnificat during Vespers. All are welcome to attend to pray and sing this ancient liturgy of the Church.
Catholic 301: The Spirit of the Liturgy, Saturday mornings, 9:00-10:30 a.m. July 9, 16, 23, and 30, Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. All are invited to a four-week study of Joseph Ratzinger’s influential book The Spirit of the Liturgy led by Father Justin Gough. Classes will be held in the Cathedral Parish Center.
Topics will include what Ratzinger has to say about the essence of the liturgy what role art and music play in the liturgy, and what it means for us to be active participants in liturgical celebrations. Volunteering for the Parish
Volunteers are the backbone of the parish and we welcome new volunteers with open arms. However, in the world today we must do everything we can to protect all people of all ages, the church and also yourself.
If you are ready and willing to give of your time and talent to be a part of one or more of our many ministries, please contact Barbara Sadler, Extension 22 or bsadler@stmaryspylesville.org for the information and guidance of the required Virtus training. The training will provide insight for the protection of all age groups and the responsibilities. DON’T WORRY!! It is an easy procedure.
