Janelle will be a co-secretary with Paula Mollica. Janelle has an exemplary education and work experience; she is committed to customer service needs and will serve the parish wonderfully. The parish secretaries will continue to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The parish Business Manager (Joan Hurley) will continue to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. VIRTUS TRAINING – RE-CERTIFICATION: Jared Forcier has graciously offered to host a re-certification VIRTUS training class, in-person, at St. Mark, Parish Hall, on Sunday, June 26, at 1:00 p.m. Many parishioners are “up” for re-certification and it shouldn’t take more than an hour to recertify. If you want to attend, please go to www.virtusonline.org to register. If you have any problems registering, please call the VIRTUS Help Desk at 888-847-8870. This is an excellent opportunity to take the class and not have me (Paula) pester you with eMail messages to get your updated VIRTUS training !!!!!
ST. MARK LADIES GUILD: The Ladies' Guild luncheon was a HUGE success. A big thank you for all the time, preparation, delicious food, and royal service provided to the attendees; it was just a most enjoyable afternoon.
SOCIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE: Team Social is celebrating its first anniversary on June 23, 2022, at 6:30 – the Baran’s House. Baltic Tour Thursday: kielbasa, perogies, rye bread, etc. Appetizers or desserts welcome but not expected. Wine, beer, beverages. Friends and Family who wish to join our team are WELCOME! 2023 MASS BOOK: The Mass Book for 2023 is now open. Requests for 2023 masses may be processed as follows:
b. Phone requests are not taken
c. Due to covid-19 we are still not having in-person bookings at the office
d. Please be sure to write legibly
e. Please provide the date, time, and how you wish the mass to be remembered by
f. Each family is entitled to two weekend masses and one weekday mass
g. The weekly candle is also open for booking
h. Each mass and candle request is $10
i. Please provide “alternative dates and times” just in case someone booked a mass before you
j. Payment is due at time of booking and checks should be made payable to St. Mark Parish
k. After your requests are processed, you will receive a receipt and “cheat sheet” to keep on hand as a reminder of your dates
BLESSED SACRAMENT: Blessed Sacrament/Father Skip has reached out to us to request our help with his food kitchen ministry over the summer. As you know, we collect food weekly for Father Skip; however, his pantry is getting bare and the summer increases the need for many in his Parish, especially school children who no longer receive breakfast or lunch at school. Father can use: canned tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, boxed cereals, canned vegetables, rice, pasta, pasta sauces, and other non-perishable items. Thank you as always for your generosity.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FOOD DRIVE: Just a reminder that the Knights will be doing a drive-up food donation collection for Blessed Sacrament on Saturday, June 25, from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon over by the Parish Center. You won’t have to get out of your car!!!
A MUSICAL AFTERNOON AT PUTNEY CHAPEL: The Putney Chapel Association is hosting a Musical Afternoon of piano music, featuring Dr. “Joe” Utterback (celebrated American jazz pianist, composer, and recording artist, "Dr. Joe" Utterback is a featured performer throughout the United States, from the Tony Awards dinners in New York City to music festivals across the country, his high-energy piano jazz delights audiences. Dr. Joe infuses familiar blues, ballads, Broadway, and jazz classics with a captivating, dynamic style), Stratford’s very own Addie Lee Chase, and friends, on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., at the Putney Chapel, 5396 Main Street, Stratford, CT. P.S. So worried. I haven’t seen my little turkey grandchildren or their mommy for a week. Lots of fox, bobcat, and coyote in the neighborhood. I hope they didn’t get eaten!
Pretty much an “open” weekend for the Mollica’s. Have some gardening to do and a few errands to run; nothing special. Want to take a ride up to Hobby Lobby or Home Goods. I need a new cutting board. Taking Michael to lunch for Father’s Day on Sunday. The weekend is supposed to be fantastic weather-wise. Everyone please enjoy!
