Hi there, everyone! Here is our Flocknote for this week. Hope you are enjoying the day!
1) Paris Picnic:
Our Parish Picnic is next Sunday, 6/26, from 12-4pm.
Signup sheets for side dishes, desserts and volunteers to help with setup, teardown and serving are at the entrances.
Please sign up to help make this picnic a success.
We look forward to sharing this time with the Parish.
Remember, Many hands make light work.
2) Eucharistic Revival Candle: Starting this weekend, on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, you will see a votive candle burning by the Tabernacle in addition to our normal Sanctuary Lamp. That same candle will be placed near every Tabernacle in every parish in the Diocese. Over the next 3 years the Bishops of the US have invited us to undergo a Eucharistic Revival to reinvigorate & renew our love for, our devotion to, & our understanding of the great gift of Jesus' Body, Blood, Soul, & Divinity in the Eucharist. This candle is a kickoff to that revival. Future plans are forthcoming.
3) PSR: Looking ahead to next year's PSR. With the small groups at both parishes, we are looking at the possibilities of some sort of combined PSR program with St. Pat's. Doing some sort of combined program will allow us to work together to better educate & form our young people in the faith. More details about what that exactly will look like will be shared as they are figured out.
5) Father's Day Prayer: A Blessed Father's Day to all of our father's & prayers for those who are celebrating with our Heavenly Father. This will be my first Father's Day since my own dad passed, so if I could ask for some extra prayers they would be much appreciated. Here is a nice prayer for Father's Day...
Praise Those Fathers
Let us praise those fathers who have striven to balance the demands of work, marriage, and children with an honest awareness of both joy and sacrifice.
Let us praise those fathers who, lacking a good model for a father, have worked to become a worthy and virtuous father.
Let us praise those fathers who, by their own account, were not always there for their children, but who continue to offer those children, now grown, their love and support. As well, let us pray for those fathers who have been wounded by words and actions of their children.
Let us praise those fathers who, despite marital discord, have remained in their children's lives.Let us praise those fathers whose children are adopted, and whose love and support has nurtured a thriving life.
Let us praise those fathers who, as stepfathers, freely choose the obligation of fatherhood and earned their step children's love and respect.
Let us praise those fathers who have lost a child to death, and continue to hold the child in their heart.
Let us praise those men who have no children, but cherish the next generation as if they were their own.
Let us praise those men who have "fathered" us in their role as mentors and guides.
Let us praise those men who are about to become fathers; may they openly delight in their children. And let us praise those fathers who have died, but live on in our memory and whose love continues to nurture us.
