Today is the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. This solemnity occurs every year on the Friday after Corpus Christi. From 6th grade through high school I was taught by the Religious of the Sacred Heart (R.S.C.J.) at a school that has since closed. Although the building no longer exists, I realize that the values we were taught remain with me --- to communicate and reveal the love of the heart of Jesus to the world.
That sounds like a daunting task, to communicate to the world, yet each of us loving our little part of the world will spread the love God everywhere. It is the ripple effect we see when throwing a stone into a lake or pond. So to when we act with love toward another person that love continues to spread from person to person. God's love is never ending, we just need to keep throwing it into the pond so that it is felt by others.
Blessings,
Mary
