Cardinal Seán Gives Fr. Anthony Mecha a New Assignment
Cardinal Seán, after consultation with the Bishop of the Diocese of Enugu, Nigeria, has appointed Fr. Anthony Mecha as the Administrator of St. Joseph Parish in Malden. Fr. Anthony has been in residence with us for almost two years, serving as priest chaplain at the South Shore Hospital (SSH) while pursuing higher studies. Prior to moving in with us, Fr. Anthony was in residence at St. Joseph Parish in Malden. Many parishioners who have been patients at SSH report receiving excellent pastoral care from Fr. Anthony. In addition, Fr. Anthony has helped with Masses and confessions in our parishes. Though we will miss Fr. Anthony, we are grateful to him and his Bishop for their openness to this assignment serving the people of St. Joseph Parish in Malden. The effective date of the appointment was June 21, 2022.
Ryan Tremblay Relocating
Ryan Tremblay has been an important part of the overall music ministry in our parishes since 2019 and the start of our collaborative relationship. His music ministry has been an important part of the Sunday 5:00 p.m. Masses, Monday evenings of Eucharistic Exposition, Adoration and Benediction and the Sacrament of Penance during Advent and Lent, and some other sacramental celebrations like Confirmation and First Eucharist. Ryan has informed us that he and his wife, Elizabeth, and their triplet sons will soon be relocating to Nashville, TN so that they can each pursue opportunities in their respective fields.
Ryan's last Sunday 5:00 p.m. Mass with us will be on Sunday, June 26. In addition, we have invited Ryan to provide music for Eucharistic Exposition, Adoration, and Benediction, and the offering of the Sacrament of Penance on Monday, June 27. After each of the dates, we will have an opportunity to thank Ryan for his music ministry over the past 2+ years and ask God's blessing on him and his family as they depart for Nashville!
