Dear Parents-
June is flying by and the heat this week reminds us that summer is in full swing. Each year the time seems to speed up for me. There is so much to accomplish during the 9 weeks between the end of school work days and new staff orientation in the fall. As I begin my 11th year as principal one of the great lessons I have learned is that the smooth running of the year is often achieved in part through the thorough planning in the summer. My brain is busy with schedules, program and curriculum adjustments, hiring, supply and resource ordering, updating handbooks and policies, and so much more. Each year provides us new opportunities to grow and be the best we can be. It never gets old, easy, or boring!
This summer there is the added opportunities presented with planning for the new school. It has been a grueling process of working with architects and contractors to design a building that will accommodate our needs and fit our budget. I am sure you can all imagine the challenge of this in the current economic climate. However, I am pleased to say that we remain on track with our goal to break ground this fall to lay the foundation. It is an exciting and nerve-wracking time for us. I appreciate your prayers and support so very much.
Thank you to everyone who has dropped off their gently used uniform clothing. We are getting organized and will continue to collect gently used uniform clothing until the end of June. We will take a week to get things organized and open up for “shopping” on July 11th. Our building is open Monday through Friday from 7:00-3:30. This is a great opportunity to see what you can get rid of and what you might need. If you need a reminder about our uniform dress code, you can find the information on our website.
Keep spreading the great news about Divine Mercy. We have openings at every grade level and would be thrilled to give someone a tour or talk to them about our school.
Enjoy the sun!
Trusting in Our Lord-
