Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
Friday, June 24, is the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. There will be adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 8:30 am – 8:30 pm in the Chapel. Please sign-up for a specific time slot or just stop by to pray for the intentions of our parish. At the beginning of Adoration, Our Lady’s Sodality will lead the Rosary in a Worldwide event praying for the sanctification of priests.
For Adoration, you will notice we are using a different monstrance. This historical sacred vessel was recently restored to it's original grandeur.
Parish Picnic & Pie Baking Contest
June 26 is our parish picnic! Come to the 12:00 (Noon) Mass and the join us for the Eucharistic procession up the hill and Benediction on the steps of the Hogan Center. Parish picnic follows Benediction. Tickets can be purchased at the picnic. There are also raffle tickets to win a Sacred Heart of Jesus statue.
Attention Bakers – Pie Baking Contest!
At the parish picnic, we will hold a Pie Baking Contest … so fire up those ovens … It’s time to showcase your baking talent! Bring your best pie to Whitemarsh Hall during the picnic. Judging will take place at 3:00 pm.
Presentation on the Shroud of Turin
On Saturday, June 25, at 7:00 pm in Carroll Hall there will be a presentation on the Shroud of Turin and other artifacts. You will have the opportunity to see artifacts first-hand and ask questions.
Blessed Carlo Acutis Exhibit
At the picnic, stop by in Whitemarsh Hall to view the Blessed Carlo Acutis exhibit. Carlo Acutis was an English-born Italian Catholic youth and amateur computer programmer, who is best known for documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world and cataloguing them onto a website which he created before his death from leukemia. After this weekend, the exhibit will be moved to Whitemarsh Hall from June 20-28.
Honor a Love One
You now have the opportunity to honor someone special through the purchase of flowers for our church!
Throughout the year, you may choose a specific weekend and order altar flowers in memory of a loved one, in honor of someone special, or in honor of a special occasion (e.g. an anniversary). The flowers will be placed in the sanctuary of our church for the weekend you select.
