PRIEST CONVOCATION NEXT WEEK AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU
Every three years, all priests of the Archdiocese of Chicago are required to gather together for four days of talks, formation, and fellowship. Next Monday-Thursday is this important period of time. Usually, parishes have to cancel Masses and confessions since no priests are available. I am pleased to say we are continuing our normal schedule thanks to the presence of Fr. David Mowry.
Fr. Mowry is a priest of the Diocese of Joliet and the Ernest & Marily Waud Chair of Homiletics at Mundelein Seminary. He is a classmate and good friend of mine, and I am deeply appreciative of his presence in our community. Fr. Mowry will be celebrating both of our weekday Masses, hearing confessions, and being available for emergency anointing calls while staying in the rectory. Since many area parishes are canceling Mass, I expect that we will see a bump in our attendance. Please make sure to welcome our guests in a spirit of radical hospitality. Please pray for the priests of the Archdiocese of Chicago during this important time of renewal.
