Sharing the Journey: Lenten Soup Supper
Join us Friday March 2nd at 6pm in the Woodlands Room for a soup supper and presentation by Fr. Jacek Orzechowski, OFM from Catholic Charities and a personal testimony of one of the catechists at the Catholic Community of Langley Park whose family is facing a perilous future due to the termination of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS). In addition to highlighting some of the challenges facing the immigrant members of Catholic Church in our geographic area, Fr. Jacek will point out the unique opportunities that Montgomery County residents have to defend the vulnerable, promote justice and nurture the culture of life through the local community organizing efforts such as AIM and the archdiocesan Justice and Advocacy Council.
Fr. Jacek Orzechowski, OFM was born and grew up in Poland. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1988, he joined Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province and obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Washington Theological Union. After serving as a Parochial Vicar at St. Camillus Church in Silver Spring for the past nine years, Fr. Jacek now serves at Catholic Charities coordinating its Parish Community Organizing and Advocacy efforts.
