Dear Parents-
Greetings! This last day of June finds me on my annual summer vacation at the lake with my 7 siblings and their families. We have all been doing this for the last 33 years. In that time, we have had the pleasure of watching each other’s children grow up and celebrating or mourning all of life’s bumps and graces. As my father nears his 90th birthday, I find myself reflecting on the beautiful gifts provided to me through this wonderful support system. I am blessed to have this large family and they fill me up in many ways (yes, they sometimes also vex me-but that is the beauty of family 😊) and I do not know how I would have weathered some of these years without them. I am grateful to share my life with them.
In many ways, I feel the same about our school and parish family. I am blessed to have walked this road with many of you. Your presence has enriched my life and I am grateful for you. Your support has helped us all weather the challenges, and it makes us have hope for the future. As I spend time this summer revising new building plans, meeting with architects and kitchen designers, negotiating budget with parish leadership and building managers, and planning for next year’s school year, I see so many things that give me hope. We have much to look forward to and be grateful for as we head into the 2022-2023 school year. I am sure there will be challenges, but we will be able to face them together.
I hope you are enjoying the summer with your family. May you spend some time reflecting on what you are grateful for and finding something to look forward to. These gentle moments are fleeting, yet refreshing for the soul. Welcome July!
