Dear City of Redlands,
I’m writing to ask that you allow our church to proceed with our new building on East Lugonia. I'm looking forward to being at the future location, where our entire church community can be together, on a campus with greatly improved environmental stewardship. This will help us to live more in harmony with our neighbors in Redlands, and with all of God’s beautiful Creation.
In particular, our new campus is planned with landscaping including more than 500 trees, native plants, drip irrigation and outdoor prayer areas. These features will provide habitat for Redlands’ birds and pollinators, and worship space for us. It will provide natural shade, and reduce water and chemical fertilizer usage.
We also plan watershed saving features: permeable surfaces, berms, an above ground basin and underground water chambers to capture precious rain, rather than letting it run off to streets or sewers.
We also plan solar power, reducing fossil fuel usage.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment and God bless you.
