Sacred Heart
Whether statues or stained glass, the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus can be found in churches all over the world. Jesus looks down, one hand extended out and another pointing to a heart wreathed in thorns and glowing with light.
In the Sacred Heart, we see both the sorrow and the joy of the life of Christ, who became one of us out of love. "Jesus knew and loved us each and all during his life, his agony, and his Passion and gave himself up for each one of us ? He has loved us all with a human heart" (CCC 478).
In the Incarnation, God becomes man. Jesus experienced the fullness of humanity, including its sufferings. Today, we remember all that Jesus endured for us. We also remember why he endured it -- out of love.
El Sagrado Corazon
Ya sean estatuas o vidrieras, la imagen del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús se puede encontrar en iglesias de todo el mundo. Jesús mira hacia abajo, con una mano extendida y la otra apuntando a un corazón envuelto en espinas y resplandeciente de luz.

The Mt Angel Knights of Columbus will be offering up to two $750 scholarships to any graduating senior of the St Mary Parish.
The requirements for the scholarships are that you write the following in
essay form: volunteerism for your community & church activities, school
accomplishments, sports & any other activities you have been involved in.
Deadline is July 15th.

Los Caballeros de Mt Angel ofrecerán hasta dos becas de $ 750 a cualquier estudiante de último año que se gradúe y son de la parroquia de Sta Maria.
Los requisitos para las becas son que escriba lo siguiente en forma de ensayo: voluntariado para su comunidad y actividades de la iglesia, logros escolares, deportes y cualquier otra actividad en la que haya participado.

Emily joins the staff at St Mary’s, after an extensive search for a new Music Director. She comes with a wealth of experience having worked in Church Music since her teens, most recently in two parishes in the Bronx N.Y.
We look forward to developing the music program at St Mary’s and know that Emily will be a vital part of the team.
