I'm sure you have all heard by now the great news that Roe vs. Wade has been overturned. It was a very providential day for this to happen. It was the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In the Psalm for the day we heard from the beloved Psalm 23 where we hear that the Lord is our shepherd. It goes on to say, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for you are at my side." These words are appropriate given the culture of death that we are living in. This recent announcement is a sign of hope and reassurance that our Good Shepherd is with us in this valley of death. Although there will be many states that ban abortion, sadly, our state is not one of them. We have some of the most radical abortion laws in the country. Let us continue to pray for an end to abortion and the culture of death, knowing that the Sacred Heart of the Good Shepherd is walking with us and guiding our feet along the paths of righteousness.
