Farewell Letter from Fr. Christopher
Dearest St. Bartholomew parishioners,
In this, my farewell letter, I wish to express my gratitude for your love and support in my final days as your pastor. Although I am deeply saddened by what seems to be an early end to my assignment (even though a transfer after six years is not unusual), I am filled with joy in the confidence that God's hand is at work. I am excited to begin my work as parochial vicar at St. Vincent De Paul in Houston on July 1. It will be a one-year assignment before I move to my next assignment as a pastor. This is where the Archdiocese needs me, and I look forward to helping Fr. Bill Young in his leadership as the pastor of that great parish.
One more note: Conversing Clergy will continue! I will be publishing weekly videos and hopefully we can begin livestreaming during my assignment at St. Vincent de Paul. If you wish to keep up with these videos, please follow me on Twitter (
@frplant), subscribe to my YouTube channel (
youtube.com/c/ConversingClergy), and hit the bell.
Once again, thank you for making my assignment with you a tremendous blessing. Be assured of my prayers for you. Please, pray for me!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Christopher Plant

Parish Family Prayers
The Month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart. This year the Church celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 24. In addition to the liturgical celebration, there are many devotional exercises, among them being the First Friday devotions, that honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Of all devotions, devotion to the Sacred Heart was, and remains, one of the most widespread and popular in the Church.
ACT OF CONSECRATION TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
Most sweet Jesus, humbly kneeling at Thy feet, we renew the consecration of our family to Thy Divine Heart. Be Thou our King forever! In Thee we have full and entire confidence. May Thy spirit penetrate our thoughts, our desires, our words and our deeds. Bless our undertakings, share in our joys, in our trials, and in our labors. Grant us to know Thee better, to love Thee more, to serve Thee without faltering. Amen.
