A NOTE OF THANKS FROM MSGR. SEVERINUS
My deepest thanks to all of you for your hospitality and kindness while I visited with you in Granite City these past two weeks. As I return home soon, I will pray that you may all be enveloped in Christ’s love and be given the strength to continue the good works of the Church. Thanks a million times!
DONUTS WITH DEACON
Stop by and see the Parish Life Center Library, and feel welcome to take a book home. Deacon Michael will be in the Library (with donuts!) between the Masses next Sunday, July 10. It would also be a good opportunity to ask your “Catholic Q&A” and see if you can get answers to any questions you’ve been wondering about our faith - or to introduce any potential RCIA inquirers. Join Deacon Michael for “Donuts with Deacon” between the Masses next Sunday in the PLC Library.
15th ANNUAL ST. ELIZABETH GOLF TOURNAMENT
Save the date for August 13, 2022. Join us for a great day of golf in support of our Ladies Sodality. 4 Person Scramble, cash prizes, flighted play, 50/50 and mulligans! Teams can be mixed and entry fee is $280 per team. Tee off at 8:30 a.m., Legacy Golf Course. See the flyer in the gathering space or the parish office to register.
MASS AT TOLTON’S GRAVE WITH BISHOP PAPROCKI
To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the death of the Venerable Servant of God Augustine Tolton, Bishop Paprocki will lead a procession from St. Peter’s church to Father Tolton’s grave in St. Peter cemetery, where he will offer the Holy Mass. The procession will begin at 10:00 a.m. on July 9, and the Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Those unable to take part in the roughly mile long procession route may park near the cemetery for the Mass (but not in the cemetery, due to lack of space). Chairs and bottled water will be available, but it may be good to bring your own. All are welcome to join the procession and/or the Mass. If you are interested in attenting, please sign up at https://stelizabethgc.churchcenter.com/ registrations/events/1335712. If there is enough interest, we will coordinate a parish car-pool to Quincy.
JOIN US FOR A BAPTISM
According to the current Order of Baptism, baptisms are typically celebrated outside of the Sunday Mass. However, the Order still encourages the participation of a good number of members of the parish community. Join us next Saturday, July 9, at 1 p.m. or Saturday, July 30 at 10 a.m. to welcome new members of the Church through Baptism!
PSR HELP FOR 2022-2023
We’re looking for a few new teachers & other volunteers (door monitor, etc.) to help us continue to grow our Parish School of Religion & formation programs this coming year. If you’re interested in learning more about how you could help, email Deacon Michael.
CONTACT INFORMATION UPDATES
Have you moved, changed your phone number or email address? Do we know about it? If you haven’t reported these changes to the parish office, it can effect how easily we are able to contact you to let you know what is happening! Please consider reaching out to us by phone or email to update your information. Thank you.
