Hello first grade families!
Happy March! Spring is just around the corner!
We will be learning the following in each subject area this week.:
Reading- We will be talking about order of events and why authors choose to write things the way that they do. Our spelling words this week will all have the vowel digraphs oo, ou, and ew.
Math- We are working on greater than, less than and equal to. We have began working on which way the symbol goes to show what number is greater than or less than.
Social Studies- We will be wrapping up on our looking back at our country's past. We have looked at what our past looked like, the reasons behind why we celebrate some of our country's holidays, and some heroes from our past.
Science- We will be beginning our new science kit that focuses on light and sound starting next week.
Other notes:- Just a reminder that reading logs are due back on Fridays. There is no specific time limit that the students are expected to read. They are free to read anything that they would like!
- Next week's snack helper will be Levi! Thank you to everyone who has brought in snack so far this year!
- Spring break will be the week of March 12th through the 16th!
- Seesaw app is up and running. The students are excited to share what they are doing in the classroom with everyone!
If you have any questions at any time feel free to contact me!
Have a wonderful weekend!
