“The Church is catholic because she has been sent out by Christ on a mission to the whole of the human race.” Catechism of the Catholic Church #833
We welcome Father Dan Dorsey of the GLENMARY HOME MISSIONERS, who will speak at all the Masses this weekend. This special collection will provide support for Glenmary’s ministry in the home missions of the United States. Father Dan, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, was ordained to the priesthood in 1978. He is currently serving his third term as Glenmary’s President. He previously ministered as pastor in Glenmary missions in Arkansas and Kentucky, as Glenmary’s First Vice President, and Director of the Formation and Novitiate Programs. He enjoys gardening in his spare time. We invite you to share your prayers and financial support for this important ministry. Thank you for your generosity.
Vacation This Week
I will be on vacation this week up in Michigan. Marie and Natalia will be in the office. However, there will not be any Masses scheduled Tuesday thru Friday. Should anything arise please do not hesitate to contact the office this week or to reach out directly to one of our staff members for assistance.
Come Support the Seminarians
I will be playing, again this year, in the annual Priests vs. Seminarian softball game on Saturday, July 30th at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The Game is at 7pm ET with a bluegrass concert beginning at 6pm ET. Last year, Fr. Mark Walter, Pastor of Blessed Sacrament in West Lafayette, and I were Co-MVP’s as the priests remained undefeated in this annual game. I hope you can come and join people from all over the diocese and not only have fun but all proceeds will be used to support our diocesan seminarians in formation for the priesthood. Say a prayer for no injuries!
Thank You
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with our playground project at St. Augustine. The new mulch and landscape timbers really improve the space and make it a safer and much cleaner area for our students during recess.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Volunteer Cookout on July 10th at Remington Park; it was a great evening and wonderful to see so many people from throughout the pastorate coming together and socializing and enjoying a meal together, and God provided amazing weather as well!
Thank you to all the volunteers who do so much at all our parishes to help maintain and support our mission, your time and talent is greatly appreciated!
Sacred Heart Restore and Grow Update
In less than 90 days after our official campaign, we have surpassed the HALF-WAY mark in our pledges towards our goal of $500,000! This is a tremendous achievement and one that we should be proud of!
This achievement, thus far, has been made possible by the tremendous support of so many people from outside the parish as well as within. In fact, of the 69 pledges received, 27 have come from outside of our local Remington-Wolcott community! This is a great testament to our beloved community and the familial bonds that link so many of us together through our Faith home at Sacred Heart.
We had a great opportunity for the public to view the construction progress last Sunday as the construction will soon shift to the next phase with scaffolding being erected soon. Thank you to all who attended!
God Bless,
Fr. Bennett
