A few weeks ago, Fr. Bryan announced the Nanci Petra Floral Memorial Fund in the parish update. The fund was originated as a way to honor Nanci Petra and her incredible service to Blessed Sacrament over the years. Donations to this fund will allow the church, adoration chapel and parish grounds
be embellished with fresh flowers and plants not just during sacred seasons but all year long.
As a founding member of our parish, Nanci was known and loved by so many. Over the years, Nanci gave in so many ways. Wherever there was a need Nanci was there to pitch in.
- In the early days, Nanci cleaned the Pastor’s home until they could afford a housekeeper.
- Eucharistic Ministry.
- Minister of care bringing communion to those who were unable to attend Mass,
- Member of the bereavement committee who met with families to help them prepare and plan funerals.
- Helped with funeral receptions.
- Served on Cursillo teams and was a Cursillista.
- She spent many hours a week in our adoration chapel.
- A pro-life core committee member and prayed the rosary in front of abortion clinics.
Additionally, Nanci and her husband Nick led the RCIA program for twenty-four years. This program alone brought hundreds back to the faith or introduced our faith to those seeking a relationship with our Lord.
Nanci’s warm smile, calm demeanor and infectious laugh is a treasured memory to all who knew her. The Nanci Petra Floral Memorial fund is a beautiful way to allow the memory of Nanci to continue to shine and never be forgotten. If you would like to contribute, please click on the link below.
