Helping Keep AISD Safe and Welcoming
I received this email from the Chamber of Commerce, and wanted to pass it along to our church family. It seems like a great way for individual members to meet new people and show Christ's love for Alvin in a practical way. The time commitment is only about an hour!
On behalf of Alvin ISD, I am excited to invite you to be an Alvin ISD Partner on Patrol (Alvin ISD P.O.P) at our local schools. The idea for Alvin ISD P.O.P came about a few weeks ago and has culminated to the vision of having a group formed by parents and community partners who will be invited to volunteer their time in our schools to:·
- Create a welcoming environment for our students, their families, and the school staff·
- Serve as role models of citizenship and volunteer work to our students·
- Provide an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance our schools' safety.
Alvin ISD believes that by bringing parents and community partners closer, schools can be enhanced with an environment that is safe, inspiring, and conducive to learning for our students, and where our staff feels supported and valued.
The launch of Alvin ISD Partners on Patrol will take place on Transition Day (August 17, 2022) only. We are hoping to expand the program in the future, but as of now, the plan is only for Transition Day.
Alvin ISD Partners on Patrol will be outside the schools welcoming families on August 17. Times will be as follows:
- Elementary Schools (PreK and Kindergarten): 7:15 - 8:15 AM
- Junior High Schools ( 6th graders): 7:45 - 8:45 AM
- High Schools (9th graders): 7:00 - 7:30 AM
If you, or anyone in your organization, are interested in joining Alvin ISD Partners on Patrol on August 17, please complete the form below! Together, we can welcome our students to a safe and successful school year!
