Good Afternoon Pax Christi,
First, thank you to all who have taken time to submit your feedback through the Children, Youth, & Family Ministry survey we sent out last week. If you haven't completed the survey yet, we would love to hear from you, it should take five minutes, maybe 15 minutes at most.
Second, due to some of the comments in the survey so far, I want to clarify the scope of the vision outlined in the letter that accompanied the survey.
In that letter we detail a vision for Children, Youth, & Family Ministry. The scope of the outlined vision is, for now, focused on families with children still living at home. That is not to say that families and adults in the parish who do not currently have children at home will be excluded from parish ministry. In fact, we are hoping family ministry will involve parishioners at any and every stage of life (we know multi-generational ministry is a huge benefit to families, the parish, and our spiritual lives).
The vision outlined in the letter, though, does not specifically address our efforts in adult ministry/formation/spiritual development. That aspect of parish life is something we value at Pax Christi. If the needs of adults are something you are passionate about I would encourage you to reach out for further discussion.
I would love to listen to any of your thoughts, ideas, and concerns. If you'd like to talk with me or anybody else please let me know.
Since I have your attention, we are beginning to roll out information about our first ever Catechists' Conference which will be held on August 27 from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. If you have ever thought about being a catechist or a volunteer with children and/or youth or, you know somebody who you think would be interested, continue reading for more information.
