It’s the first week of August and “back -to-school” this week! That seems just so fast! In the “good ole’ days” we had a full three months off — all of June, July and August. Ah well, maybe they are going to be smarter than us!   So, good luck in school all of you children and teens. And, all of us must remember to obey “School Zone” speed limits.
    Michael Caster, who had a summer seminarian internship here at Holy Spirit a few years ago, has decided, after much prayer, spiritual direction and discernment, to leave the seminary and the path to priesthood and move forward along a different path. Someday, he would like to be married and have a family. He also wants to work for the Church. He is hoping to become a Business Manager for a parish someday; and so, he will be pursuing that goal with some graduate courses in that field — perhaps an online program offered by Villanova University. He will begin this week to work at Holy Spirit; his job title is Director of Adult Ministry, which means that he will be offering programs for adults, e.g., BIble Studies, Retreats, Parish Renewal programs, Seminars, workshops, etc. He will also be processing all new volunteers in their required “Child Safety” education and fingerprint background checks. We welcome Michael to our staff and wish him well.
