Catechetical Conference on Saturday
This is just a friendly reminder from your local Bishop. On Saturday, Aug. 6, the Office of Faith Formation of the Diocese of Amarillo will have its annual Catechetical Conference at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Registration begins at 8:30am, with Morning Prayer beginning at 9:00. This year’s theme centers on the Initiation Sacraments of the Church: Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. This is certainly aimed at enriching the knowledge and understanding of the catechists of our parishes; however, every single Catholic would benefit greatly by attending this event. It is for all!
At a very critical moment in the history of our country with the influence of varying Humanistic Ideologies, which often are also atheistic, it would behoove every Catholic to have a better understanding and appreciation of the role that Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist play in the life of a good Catholic. Remember, you are the Light of the World! Please join us and let the Holy Spirit enlighten us so that we can enlighten others! Bishop Patrick Zurek
Please let us know how many will be coming from your parish. Please respond to:
Thursday Holy Hour and Study of the apostolic letter desiderio desideravi of Pope Francis to . . . the lay faithful.
All are encouraged to participate but I would like to especially encourage the ACTS community to the Hour of Adoration and the Theological Study of the Liturgical Formation for the People of God. Adoration and Theological studies are very much part of the spirituality of the ACTS community.
