During this past week we were informed of the passing of Rev Michael Gribble. He was loved by many here at St.Edward Church. His funeral will be this coming Tuesday at 5pm and can be viewed livestreamed from St. Francis youtube. May he rest in peace.
Please pray, too, for the repose of the soul of Herman Ritterbeck, husband of Lavaughn, and member of our parish, who died last week.
Pray, too, for Jane Hinterschied, mother of Gregg Hinterschied, who died last weekend and was buried from St. Pius Church. Also, remember in your prayers the soul of retired priest, Fr. Bill Faustner, who passed away in the week just past.

SPIRITUAL ADOPTION
Well, your little baby now weights six ounces. She has fingernails and eyelashes. She has her own unique fingerprints, which will remain the same until she dies. Her taste buds are working. Her sense of hearing is developing and present at 14 weeks. There are no major developments anymore. At this month rapid eye movements (REMs) can be detected - a sign of dreaming. Your spiritually adopted baby is already well-formed, internally and externally. All she needs now is time to gain weight and grow strong. What a miracle she is!

WALKING WITH PURPOSE BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2022
The focus of Walking with Purpose is to help women come to know Christ through Scripture. A Walking with Purpose woman is taught how to read the Bible. She learns how to take what she reads in Scripture, and applies it to her everyday life. Her time in prayer is not reserved only for Sunday, but every day. She meets Jesus in the ordinary messiness of her life, and despite her doubts and questions, she stays, because she has encountered Christ; she knows the Truth and in confidence shouts it from the rooftops. Are you a Walking with Purpose woman? Discovering Our Dignity will lead us through stories of women in the Bible recorded in Scripture, women of the Bible reach out to touch our “present” in a tender, honest and loving way -- woman to woman -- with ancient wisdom, sage advice, and insights from sorrowful failures and emotional wounds. Learn how God worked in the lives of Biblical women.Opening Your Heart: The Starting Point is a foundational Bible study that will take you on an exciting journey closer to the heart of God! Opening Your Heart is an incredibly effective guide to deep, lasting transformation of the heart and we encourage all participants new to Walking with Purpose to begin here, regardless of previous experience with Bible study
The next 2 Bible Studies, Discovering Our Dignity and Opening Your Heart will begin in September with options for: daytime (Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. September 14 – March 15) or evening (Mondays at 7:00 p.m. September 12 – March 13). Sign-up this weekend in the Gathering Space or at the west entrance. The book fee is $40.00. Make checks payable to Women of St. Edward.
