Happy Monday Parish Family!
We will continue our "Harvesting Helpers" event all month so make sure you check out the tables after Mass to see where you can use your gifts and talents for the good of the parish family.
Join your parish family for a BINGO BASH on Wednesday, August 10. We will be having a pot-luck dinner from 6-7 and Bingo from 7-8! There is no cost to play and all are welcome.
Thank you for understanding our desire to be more intentional with our communications and better stewards of our natural resources. In communion with Pope Francis' second encyclical Laudato Si' we we will be posting our weekly financial information as well as our Mass Intentions on our website. Thank you for understanding.
For our Saint of the Weeks Series, I'd like to introduce you to Sr. Clare Crockett (1982-2016). Although she has not yet entered the path into sainthood, her life, legacy and message of hope deserves to be shared.
Clare Crockett was born in Northern Ireland in the town of Derry. She was always a friendly, outgoing girl who loved to act, sing and play around. She was quite talented and started working in television at a young age. In her teenage years she was a self proclaimed partier and was always looking for a good time. At 17, she was invited to take the place of a friend who had injured herself on a trip to Spain. Thinking that they were going to party, Clare eagerly agreed to go. Upon preparing for the trip, she realized she was going with a group of older people on a pilgrimage! It was here that she realized what the Lord had done for her, what her sins had done to Him and that she wanted to give her life to Him. The problem was, she was already on the path to become a famous actress and she wanted that life too. After an inner struggle, and without support from her family and friends, Clare left behind her secular life and embraced her religious calling.
Sr. Clare brought joy to everyone she met, from young to old. She never lost an opportunity to put a smile on someone's face, make them feel loved, special and seen in the eyes of God. She demanded "all or nothing" from everyone she met and returned the same energy in return. She was killed doing what she loved in a tragic earthquake accident in Ecuador.
If we can learn anything from Sr. Clare, it's to love with our whole heart and know that God loves each and every one of us. If you would like to learn more about Sr. Clare, please watch the show All or Nothing, Sr. Clare on Formed.
