TIMES OF REFRESHING

VIGILANCE – THE ORDER OF THE TIMES!
The good Lord has always wanted us to enjoy the life we have; however, at the same time has warned us not to lose ourselves to….complacency!
Many a pious person has fallen into the trap of thinking that they are immune to the “wiles of the evil one”. If we fall into this “quicksand”, we will be so bold as to walk right into it thinking that we are a cut above the rest and believing that “it can’t happen to us!”
Well, if we aren’t careful, IT WILL! Therefore, let us be ON GUARD constantly before the “evil one” gets a grip of our own prideful self and set us on the course towards disaster.

FAITH DEFINED!
I love the definition of FAITH as found in the first line of this Sunday’s Second Reading. “FAITH IS THE REALIZATION OF WHAT IS HOPED FOR AND EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN.”
Indeed, when I think back to February of this year when I felt very compelled by God to do something about improving the facilities of our school –
I remembered how burdened I was about how we can garner enough resources to simply begin. At first, I thought that I may just be finding a way to “hide” my grief having lost my Mom days before I set down to write my thoughts in a letter to our Parish Executive Staff about what it is that we need to do.
Now, five months later, I realize that God simply spoke to us about the wonderful things that we can do for our children through Catholic Education.
Indeed, it started with a dream which turned to hope and was realized by the Lord.
As we begin the school year 2022/2023, each classroom is now equipped with a “State of the Art” Interactive Display Board, 4 classrooms have been given a new tile or carpet floor, new paint, window blinds and lighting, a beautifully renovated Girls Restroom in the main building.
Most of our teachers now have brand new computers and the longed-for printer/scanners in each of the classrooms. Our administration now works on brand new laptops. We now have a 1-on-1 ratio of Chromebooks to students.
Our primary school garden and school frontage have been landscaped. New microscopes and weighing scales for our Science Lab have finally been ordered.
And the work continues…. We are currently looking at a new Closed Circuit Television system to beef up security, new desks, etc., and even a more proper office for our Vice Principal.
