Dear St. Augustine Family,
Today we celebrate the Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Each of the readings assure us that we can always trust in God. The Book of Wisdom reminds us that the Chosen People’s courage came from their trust in God’s promises to them. The Letter to the Hebrews recalls Abraham’s unwavering faith in God as well. Jesus calls his disciples past and present not only to have faith but to put it into practice by going where God sends them and doing what God tells them. For all who have been so blessed with the gift of faith will also have to give an account of how they shared and lived this gift. For the one given much, more is required of them.
Mass is celebrated on Saturdays at 4:30 p.m. and on Sundays at 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. The 12:30 p.m. Mass will be live-streamed via our YouTube Channel.

Are you curious about the Catholic faith? Have you considered becoming a Roman Catholic, but just did not know how? Do you know someone who would like to explore the Catholic traditions? Consider joining St. Augustine’s Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
RCIA is a Ministry dedicated to faith formation and full initiation of adults with no religious background or those coming from other faith traditions, into the Roman Catholic faith. RCIA also invites baptized Catholics seeking to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist to participate in the transformative spiritual journey towards a rich and fulfilling life in Christ.
Join us on Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Virtual and in person Inquiry Sessions will begin in September.
An important part of the RCIA experience is introducing seekers to the parish faith community.
If you are a baptized Catholic who has received all your Sacraments of Initiation and are practicing your Catholic faith, consider serving as a Sponsor to those who are interested in joining the Catholic Church.

Father Pat will lead a Sponsor Orientation Workshop on Saturday, August 27 at 10:00 am -12:30 pm to prepare potential Sponsors.

Attending the Sponsor Orientation Workshop will help you learn more about the fundamentals of serving as an RCIA Sponsor and discern how God may be calling you to serve in this Ministry. As people appear who are interested in becoming Catholic, we want our parish to have Sponsors ready to walk with them on their journey.
