What is A Family of Faith? It is a four-year program that takes families through the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
A Family of Faith will equip parents with the knowledge and the practices to confidently catechize their children at home and instill a Catholic Identity within their family. Monthly, parents will meet for a catechist lead lesson where they will receive the practices, knowledge, and confidence to share and live the Catholic identity with their families at home using the resources provided by program for that month. The goal is to develop your home into a “domestic church” where the Catholic Identity is rooted in your family, not just through information, but through an authentic example of a love for God.
A Family of Faith consists of two meetings a month. The first meeting will be the Adult Meeting. This Adult Meeting will take place on the 1st Sunday of each month. Children will attend their grade level catechesis lessons during the Adult Meeting where grades 3 through 6 will receive an introduction to the lesson of the month. Students enrolled in Sacramental Preparation receive their proper curriculum to prepare them to receive the Sacraments. For the remainder of that month, parents will lead their children at home through activities and practices to help strengthen their knowledge of the Catholic Faith and their Catholic Identities. The second, Community Meeting, will help to fortify their Catholic Identity while offering a fun community building event.
