Dear parishioners,
I wanted to update everyone on a few upcoming events...
1. Tomorrow, Wednesday August 10th at 5:30pm Bishop Malloy will be joining us at St. Catherine's to celebrate the Holy Mass and officially install myself as the pastor of St. Mary's and St. Catherine's. All are welcome to attend. For those who cannot attend, we plan on livestreaming the Mass on our YouTube page. Thanks for all your prayers and support. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will conclude on Wednesday at 5:00pm because of the Mass. Confessions on Wednesday afternoon will also be abbreviated due to the Installation Mass at 5:30. Confessions will be heard from approximately 5:00 - 5:20pm.
2. On Friday, August 12th, we will have the regularly scheduled 8:00 Mass in the Church due to our parish and school staff attending as well. The parish and school offices will be closed on Friday because of the retreat. The Adoration schedule will be as normal from 8:30am - 10:00pm.
3. Beginning after morning Mass on Saturday August 13th, we will be working on getting the chapel chairs re-cushioned and re-upholstered. This will take several days to about a week. During this project the chapel will still be open, but many chairs will be disassembled, so we will plan on having Masses and Adoration in the main Church until the project is complete. I will keep everyone posted on any changes.
4. On Sunday, August 14th we will have our annual Parish Picnic. We will begin with Holy Mass at 11:30 (outside) and then followed by food, fellowship, games, and music. If possible, please bring a food donation for Food Fish Pantry. We are looking forward to a nice gathering together. All our other Mass times will be the same as usual and held in the Church.
5. On Monday, August 15th we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mass will be in the Church at 8:00am. Please join us to honor our Lady as we worship God and pray together for the world and our community.
God bless you all and thanks again for all your support and prayers for our parishes and for each other,
Fr. John
