Dear CtRCS Families,
Welcome to our third (and final!) Summer Edition Crusader Chronicle. Don't worry, after this week, our Crusader Chronicle will resume every Thursday afternoon.
I have to say, it has been a busy week here on campus. Our new faculty and staff joined us last week and our returning faculty and staff have been on campus since Tuesday (some of them before) and the work they do to transform bare halls and classrooms to welcoming spaces is unbelievable! I am beyond grateful to each of them for the work they do for all of our students and their families.
Speaking of students, we cannot wait to welcome everyone next week. Starting around noon tomorrow, homeroom teachers will begin calling their students to introduce themselves. This will be a short phone call from the teacher to the student, so please answer any unknown numbers you may see. Phone calls will be made between noon on Friday, 8/12 through noon on Saturday, 8/13. If you have not received a phone call or voicemail by Monday morning, please email us and let us know and we will make sure you know where to go for Meet the Teacher (more details below).
As you make your final preparations for the 2022-23 school year, please be sure to review our parent-student handbook and technology agreement. Once you know your child's teacher, please be sure to complete the electronic Google Form to acknowledge receipt (one per child, please). This form will become available on Monday, August 14th and will be found on the Parent-Student Handbook page of the website.
Tomorrow morning, our faculty and staff will be joining all of the other archdiocesan schools at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for an Opening School Mass. Please join me in praying for them, our students, and all of YOU. May the light of Christ shine through all of us on campus, and may our Crusaders see the light of Christ in themselves, and be the light for each other as we start the 2022-23 school year.

Martial Arts Team Registration
Register now for the Martial Arts Team open to elementary and middle school students! To learn more, email Founder@SoldierForChrist.org. Classes are held 4 p.m. Mondays, costing $69 per month.
Chess Club Registration
Fall chess club is open to students in grades 2-5 and meets Wednesday afternoons Sept. 14-Nov. 30. See the flyer below for more information.

Dance Fun is an inspiring children’s dance program that brings the joyful world dance to your child’s school. Classes are Tuesdays after school for students grades PreK-3 - 3rd. See the below flyer for more information.

Welcome back Crusader Parents!
Thank you to those of you who have supplied your child's updated immunization records and medications. As a reminder, if your child will be needing medications while on campus, you will need to have the proper documentation for the school year. Please visit our website to obtain the proper documentation.
I will be on campus Aug. 9-12, as well as Aug. 15 and Aug. 16 for medication drop off. Please email me and we can schedule a time. I will also be available to take medications after the morning car line (after 8 a.m.) the first few weeks of school.

Again, please reach out to schedule a time to drop off your child's medications. For the safety of your child while they are at school, it is best to drop off medications ASAP. Crusader Spotlight
Rising 8th Grader Lael Maldonado competed this weekend in Dallas in the Junior Olympics for water polo. His team won 3rd Place in their age division!

At CtRCS, we strive for excellence, and what better way than to join our volunteer community! There are opportunities throughout the school year for all types of volunteers. We have take-home projects, off-campus, on-campus, and many other ways to help. Becoming a volunteer is an amazing way to support our school and help with events throughout the year. The Crusader Volunteer Community is a team effort in which we cannot succeed on our own.

Required Safe Environment Training
CtRCS Volunteers are required to complete a Safe Environment online course and background check before volunteering. You may complete this 70-minute course at any time. See the attached flyer for details. Be sure to select the course marked "Mandatory for all employees and volunteers" and follow all instructions carefully. You will receive a certificate to print after the background check has cleared.
