We welcome Fr. Bill Ryan, our home-grown missionary, to Holy Redeemer. Fr. Ryan arrived last week from Togo, West Africa, where he is serving as pastor of our sister parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Fr. Ryan grew up in Holy Redeemer and attended the school here. He has a long home visit this year and although you can see him at daily Mass, you won’t see him here on Sundays until our “Togo Sunday” in October, because he will be preaching at different parishes to try to round up additional support for the mission in addition to our own annual collection for our sister parish.
Holy Redeemer is currently making some exciting plans for strengthening our already great relationship with the mission parish in Togo. We’ll be telling you about these plans in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, to learn more about our sister parish, go to togomissionparish.org. Click on Current Mission Report to see how last year’s collection helped to pay for four more wells in Togo and to help dormitory students at the mission to get a great education.
