Social Concerns Collection This Month
The social concerns collection for this month is for the Local Needy in our area. Historically, the August Social Concerns Collection has always been for the Local Needy, which is critical now as the poor are the most greatly impacted by the increasing cost of energy, affecting food prices, transportation prices and every aspect of their lives.
Remember Those Who Have Died
Please remember in your prayers, those who have died, especially Pat Cashin (father of Tim Cashin) and Zafira Nettey (granddaughter of Robert and Marcia Nettey). Their families have our parish community’s deepest sympathies.
Remember Those Who Are Sick
Please remember in your prayers, those who are sick, especially Helenjane Sullivan, mother of Patti Sten and Charlotte Cashin, mother of Tim Cashin.
August Support for SOME
On August 13, our parishioners donated a very generous amount of chicken and fruit for the parish's longstanding "Second Saturday of the Month" outreach to So Others Might Eat (SOME) in Washington D.C. The reliability of our food donations each month greatly helps SOME plan its menus to feed its hungry clients the following week. Our next parish "SOME Day" will be on Saturday, September 10. Please see the bulletin for details on how to participate in this longstanding monthly support for SOME .
Looking for Book Club Members
Our 10-year-old Book Club is looking to add some additional women members to our group. We range in age from 20s to 80s. We "meet" every six weeks or so from September - June at 5pm on Sunday's. We've been doing Zoom meetings since Covid but hope sometime soon to get back to meeting over dinner. We are a group of lovely ladies who enjoy discussing our book selection for the month. If you have interest, I'm happy to share more details - patty.mascari80@gmail.com.
Administrative Assistant Needed
We are now taking applications for a full time administrative assistant position to help in the Parish Office, Monday-Friday. If you have experience or know someone who does, please contact Grace Konieczny at gkonieczny@stelizabethchurchmd.org for more information.
Behold, I Make All Things NEW!
Revival is in the Air! There is an exciting Journey Ahead! Our world is hurting. We all need healing, yet many of us are separated from the very source of our strength. Jesus Christ invites us to return to the source and summit of our faith: his Real Presence in the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States.
