To Members of Our Deaf Community
For many years Sacred Heart Church has been home to a small community of Deaf worshippers. In the past we were able to offer ASL-interpreted Masses every week prior to the world-wide pandemic. Following the pandemic we have been unable to find ASL interpreters to continue having an ASL interpreted Mass at our parish. We are currently working with the Boston Deaf Apostolate (Archdiocese of Boston) to find an interpreter. In the meantime Fr. Shawn Carey invites Deaf worshippers to St. Jude's Parish in Waltham where he celebrates the Mass fully in ASL. Fr. Shawn is also the Chaplain for the Boston Deaf Apostolate and is part of a team ministry at St. Jude's Parish in Waltham. Fr. Shawn offers ASL Masses recorded each weekend on YouTube.
