Parish Update -- August 26, 2022
Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph and Corpus Christi:
Congratulations to our newest baptized parishioner, James Dominic Dickel who was baptized August 14 here at St. Joseph. James is the newborn son of our parishioners Ted and Kelsey Dickel. Congratulations and welcome to the Church!
Our sympathies to GG Holmes who's sister, Bobby McConnell, died this past week. Please pray for the repose of her soul and keep their families in your prayers.
This weekend -- I will not be here this coming Sunday. I am very grateful to Fr. P.J. Curley who will be filling in for me. This weekend, I'm headed to Vicksburg to celebrate my mother's birthday. Fr. Curley is retired and lives in Vicksburg and he'll be headed this way for the weekend. There will be no confessions at 4:30 PM on Sunday. The Confession Schedule will resume next Tuesday at the regularly scheduled time.
Thank you! -- A huge thanks to the Knights of Columbus for their work this past weekend cooking for our college students for the Kick-Off Dinner. We anticipated that we'd have about 100. The Knights felt a certain prompting of the Holy Spirit and bought a little more food than they normally would. 153 people were fed! Thanks to Joe Terbrack and the CCM team and all involved.
Becoming Catholic (RCIA) -- I would like to encourage everyone to consider asking one friend of yours who has thought about Catholicism or is thinking about faith, or looking for a church home, or anybody to consider coming to our first inquiry session at 6:30 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 31st in the Parish Center. All are welcome! Here's the link you can share to help someone get signed up:
Columbarium Tree -- As you may have noticed, we cut down the Ash tree in the center of the Columbarium. The roots were beginning to do some damage to the foundation of both the columbarium wall and the sidewalk. In order to mitigate further damage we made the decision to move forward with the removal of the tree. We are talking very seriously about expansion, as many of the niches are being filled or reserved. We will be putting a committee together soon to help us move forward with this important service.
CCM Sunday Night Dinners (THANK YOU!) -- As you have probably heard, Tuesday Night Dinner has been moved to Sunday after the 5:30 PM Mass. We have all slots of volunteers taken for the Fall Semester. Thank you so much to all of you who have so graciously volunteered to cook and help out.
Get Swept Up! -- This is Wednesday, August 31, 2022. The St. Joseph Team will meet at 8 AM at the Parish Center. We will be serving breakfast after the morning's events.
Knights of Columbus Blood Drive -- The Blood Drive is September 10, 2022 in the Parish Center.

Become a Knight of Columbus -- Men of the parish who are 18 years or older are encouraged and welcome to join the Knights of Columbus. If you join this year online, there are no dues that need to be paid.
You can join by clicking on this link.
Peace,
Fr. Jason
