Holy Cross will offer a Virtus Training on Sept 22 at 7pm for all who volunteer and need certification regarding safe environment. See below for sign ups.

St. Jerome Library!!
Come see the many new books acquired to meet your needs and help you grow in faith.
Our library is located on the second floor and is open to all when the parish is open. Come visit!!
The books have been shelved according to categories such as: the Bible, Theology and Philosophy, Mary, Apologetics, Saints, Christian Life, Church History, Encyclicals and more!
Come check out a book or resource for a period of three weeks by completing the check out/in sheet on the counter as you enter the Library. Policies will be posted.

Did you know that Holy Cross has a time capsule??
It was created when the Parish Center was dedicated in 1997. The capsule is to be opened 25 years later on the Feast of the Holy Cross, September 14, 2022.
The capsule is located on a wall in the hall across from the elevator on the first floor.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, Holy Cross invites you on Wednesday, Sept 14th for:
Mass at 6pm, followed by the opening of the capsule, then the sharing a simple meal.
ALL ARE WELCOME!!!
There will be NO Mass on Wednesday morning, September 14th.

We need help with the Coffee and Donut Ministry after Masses!!
We all enjoy having coffee, donuts and fellowship after Mass but this takes volunteers to set up, serve and clean up.
Times Needed:
First and fourth Sunday 8am Masses
plus substitutes for all Masses
If you can help with hospitality after a Mass once a month, please contact Dianne Delledera
The rewards are great and donuts are free!!
Faith Formation

Tuesdays: The Bible and Mary, beginning September 6 at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Commons (6 sessions). Learn what the Bible actually says about Mary and her role in the Church.
Thursdays: Bible Study on the Book of Revelation, beginning September 8 at 10 a.m. in the Commons. This study will help you understand what’s really going on in Revelation.

Youth and Family
We invite all youth, young adults and families to Busch Gardens for a day of fun and fellowship. The day includes transportation, admission to the park, Sunday Vigil Mass, and dinner as a Diocese.
When: Saturday, October 1st, 10am to 11pm
Where: Busch Gardens, WIlliamsburg
Cost: $30 per person (Holy Cross to pay $34) Payment due Sept 18th

Holy Cross Nursery
will hopefully re-open this fall for the 11am Mass each Sunday!! To do so we need at least 8 volunteers for this ministry to keep volunteer times to once per month. All volunteers must be Virtus trained. Training will be available here at the parish.

2021 Jesse Tree Ministry
Elves Delivered! This past week Jesse Tree gifts, food, and even stockings for the younger children, were distributed to 77 households in our area. Families came from our parish community, as well as those referred to us by Interfaith Outreach Association, Lynchburg Social Services, Miriam’s House and McGurk House.
Thanks: Many thanks to all those who made the 2021 Jesse Tree Ministry a success!
We will resume distributing the monthly bags in the Commons the first weekend in February.
