Dear Friend,
These past few days, the world has begun to say 'goodbye' to the only monarch of England that most of us ever knew. Queen Elizbeth II was a transcendent figure whose nobility triumphed over the temporal whims of fancy to see the higher good.
In the first moments of her reign, she said, "I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service." In these few short words, she described the goal of all of us Christians, to live in the service of others.
We mourn her loss and with all people of good will, join in prayer that God will bless and sustain her successor and the people of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. May angels welcome her into paradise and may her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace,.
