Dear friends,
It has been a busy week here at the parish as we begin transitioning to our fall activities. Here are some brief updates for the coming weeks:
This Sunday, September 11th, we will be having our faith formation kickoff event for grades K–12. I apologize that the initial announcement only included grades K–8, but all grades are welcome. We will also be registering high school students at that time. Our faith formation kickoff event will be a short introduction to our year, followed by an opportunity for fellowship (a bonfire and s'mores!). We will also take care of any registration paperwork that needs to be done. The first week of classes is Sunday, September 18th. All grades will meet immediately following the 10 AM Mass. The bulletin also has more information about our fantastic Children's Liturgy of the Word Program and our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Program for preschoolers.
Are you interested in becoming Catholic or learning more about the Catholic faith? There will be a meet and greet for our parish RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program on September 18th, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Please reach out to Josie Benoit for more information (jsife@hotmail.com).
The Newman Center is conducting a firewood drive that goes from this weekend until next Sunday, September 18th. If you can spare some firewood, we would greatly appreciate it! Please bring donations to the parish and place them near the red shed adjacent to the faith formation building.
The Newman Center is also looking for assistance with their weekly Soup Sundays. If you can provide a soup for our college students, please sign up at
https://lssucatholic.org/soup-fall-22.html. Thanks to all who have signed up so far for this important ministry!
Fr. Romeo and I will both be away for the annual diocesan priest convocation from September Monday, September 19th through Wednesday, September 21. Daily Masses and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be cancelled those days. Please keep all of the priests of the diocese in your prayers during these days that are dedicated to our ongoing formation.
Thank you all for such a great turn out for our parish photo directory. So far, it has gone very well, and I'm grateful for your participation. I want to especially thank our parish directory team for all of their hard work.
Please continue to to keep Fr. Romeo, myself, and our parish community in your prayers. See you Sunday!
Yours in Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
Fr. Brad
