Most of the parish work, both here in the church as well as out in the community, is run by volunteers.
Without them and their dedication many of these ministries would cease to exist. At present there are a number of important ministries that may not be able to continue because of a lack of volunteers.
I strongly urge you to pray and consider how you can offer yourselves and your talents in the furthering of the parish’s ministries.

Funeral Mass Ministry
Our parish community supports those families who experience the loss of a loved one with the funeral mass & often times a reception afterwards.There are two parts to this ministry.
Funeral Altar Servers: Our dedicated team of adult volunteers have a love of the liturgy & a willingness to offer comfort through prayerful presence in serving at the funeral mass. Our servers need to have somewhat flexible schedules & are rarely asked to serve more than twice a month in teams of 3 – 4. This includes religious gifts, books, mass intentions, new registrations & general information for parishioners. If you are coming to mass & could spend a couple minutes before & after the mass to help fellow parishioners, we would love your assistance with this ministry. Welcoming others into our faith community is an integral part of being a Christian. Ushers at our parish have a unique way of making people feel welcome as they greet people & seat them at mass. Children are invited to deepen their relationship with Jesus & become closer to God in the celebration of Firs Reconciliation. Once their First Reconciliation is completed, the children are then invited to the Lord's Table to receive the precious Body & Blood of Jesus in Holy Communion.

Caretaker Position

The caretaker is responsible to oversee all caretaking of the church, including inside and outside care of the building and grounds. The caretaker is expected to maintain church facilities in accordance with established standards.

Gregorian Chant
Have you ever wanted to sing Gregorian Chant?
Last fall a group was formed at St. Bonaventure Parish to do just that & we had a very successful experience. We would like to re-extend an invitation to any interested persons to join us this year. The ultimate goal is for participants to become, if not proficient, or at least confident in reading & singing Gregorian Chant. Knowing how to read music would be helpful but not essential.
We meet each Thursday morning at 9:45 following the morning Mass in the St. Francis Room. We will commence on Thursday October 6. If you are interested or would like further information contact Ken Murdoch at murdochk@telus.net
