Dear parishioners,
Several events are happening around St. Catherine's these next few days...
1. Tomorrow, Saturday September 10th, we will celebrate 8:00am Mass in the Church followed by confessions. There will also be light refreshments in the Narthex for a brief time after Mass. At 9:00am we will have our prayer service for the National Day of Remembrance for Unborn Children. As we pray, we are together recognizing the humanity of the unborn children and deepening our own commitment to ending the injustice of abortion. The National Day of Remembrance also offers hope and healing to women who have had abortions and others who have been hurt by abortion. Please join us.
2. This Sunday, after the 7:30 and 9:30am Masses we will have donuts, coffee, and fellowship. Moving forward we plan on doing this once a month on the second Sunday. Hope to see you for prayer, Mass, and fellowship this weekend.
3. This weekend after all the Masses we will have our Fish Food Pantry Collection. The pantry could really use donations now more than ever – the number of families coming to the pantry have doubled. The pantry is especially in need of canned vegetables, cereal, pasta and pasta sauce, beverages, and diapers. Please help us in continually supporting the pantry in the great work they are doing for local families in need. Thanks for your past support!
4. Youth Ministry Kickoff is this Sunday! This kickoff event is open to Middle School Students and High School Students. Rain or shine we are still planning to meet at 5pm by the School Gym. Please join us for some food, fun, and fellowship.
5. Please pray for Fr. Rey Talento. Our hopes are that after his interview at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines this coming week, he will be able to join us in the next few weeks. I invite us to pray this attached NOVENA beginning this Sunday. The Novena will also be in the bulletin this weekend. It is a special prayer for Fr. Rey and all priests. Thank you!
My prayers for all of you,
See you this weekend,
Fr. John
