Refugee Tutoring Opportunities & Training
A Great Way to Serve Christ in Others!
Saint’s Place currently has two tutoring programs for refugees at the following locations: at Sacred Heart Cathedral and at Guardian Angels church in the St. Marianne Cope parish. The Cathedral site meets from 5 - 6:30pm on Thursdays. The Guardian Angels site meets from 5 - 6pm on Mondays. If you feel called to tutor, there will be a training session on Sept. 12 at 5pm at the Guardian Angels site. Old and new tutors are welcome. Our current tutors often have insights that are helpful.
If you plan to attend, please contact Geri Dolan at 585-278-8244 (

Bishop Lopes Visits in THREE Weeks!
Yes, you heard it right! Please mark your calendars and plan on being here at St Alban’s for our Bishop’s visit on Sunday, October 2. He will celebrate the 11am Mass, confirm two of our young people, meet and greet everyone at Coffee Hour, and attend 7pm Evensong. Please be there, especially if you haven’t met Bishop Lopes yet. He wants to meet YOU!
Icon News: Halfway There, Halfway to Go
Our custom-written icon of St Alban is progressing nicely! Iconographer Daniel Mitsui has finished an ornate Celtic “frame” with the words “Blessed Alban Martyr” in Latin, and is putting St. Alban’s creed in Latin as well. We’ve raised over $2400 to this cause – we’ll be using the icon in teaching about our faith in Jesus – and we have $1600 left to go! If you’d like to contribute, please consider doing so today. Simply put “ICON” in the memo of your check or tithe.ly donation. Thank you for your generosity!
