Dear Sacred Heart Parish Family!
Tomorrow is the Feast of the Exultation of the Cross! We are blessed to have a relic of the True Cross here in the parish which Msgr. Hogan got from Rome.
There is an ancient custom, dating from the 4th century in Jerusalem of venerating relics of the Cross on this great Feast. We will place our relic in the sanctuary of the Chapel tomorrow after both morning Masses and during the evening Confessions (7-8 PM) for you to venerate. The periods of veneration will begin and end with a blessing using the relic.
Come and adore the Wood of the Cross on which hung the salvation of the world!
One last reminder to register for CCD! Please remember that all 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 8th graders need to register to receive their next Sacraments here at Sacred Heart. See the link below to register today! We had a great start this past Saturday for the younger grades and are looking forward to grades 5 to 8 starting this evening!
Middle School youth group launches this Friday with a fun event at Sky Zone! Sign up below for youth ministry emails.
We are having some work done in the church this week, the screens which are above the altar (with the gold crosses) are being replaced. These cover the area which houses the organ pipes and the old screens were ripped and wearing. The new ones you will see on Sunday should enhance the look of the sanctuary and the sound of the organ!
Thank you to many of you who have already contributed to the Monsignor Hogan Memorial Catholic High School Scholarship Program. We still have a few more weeks to go! Please consider this great way to support the youth of our parish.
*Please note: the 9:30 AM Saturday Mass is in the Church for the academic year.
Have a blessed rest of the week and see you Sunday!
God bless,
Fr. Potts and Fr. Russo
