Greetings! Attached is our bulletin for this Sunday, September 18th, the Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time and a reflection from Fr. Canisius.
This weekend the church celebrates Catechetical Sunday, a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. This year's theme is: "This is my body given for you." We also pray in a special way for all those among us who serve in catechetical ministries in our community.
Our second collection this weekend is for the Air Conditioning fund, which helps to defray the cost of air conditioning the church.
We are grateful for your generous support.
Loving Father, we pray today for our catechists. We thank you for their gift of ministry in your Church.
Grant them your wisdom that they may grow in the understanding and teaching of your Word. Grant them also your love that they may be fruitful heralds of your Word and lead others to love you.
Pour forth your Holy Spirit upon them to grant them wisdom about what is important; knowledge of the truths of faith; understanding of their meaning; right judgement about how to apply them in life; courage to persevere even in the face of adversity; reverence before all that is sacred and holy; and that loving zeal which leads others to a transforming encounter with your Son.
We pray this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Volunteer Catechists Needed
We are still in need of catechists to
teach our children! Help form the faith of the next generation and enrich your own faith. No lesson planning is required, and lessons are easy to teach. Classes are small, usually less than 5 students. Our Traditional Choir is back!
Come one, come all...use your voice to glorify God! The Traditional Choir will resume tomorrow Saturday, 9/17. We will meet at 3:00pm and sing for the 4:00pm mass. Choir meets and sings every Saturday. Please note, in order to include those who would like to sing, but are challenged by the stairs, the choir will sing from below every second Saturday of the month. If you are new to the choir, contact Homeretta Ayala via email: hayala9022@aol.com or text 410-905-5264 or simply show up for the first rehearsal.
This month is our opportunity to provide casseroles for the guests at Our Daily Bread. Pans and recipes are in the back of church. Store-bought lasagna or mac' and cheese casseroles are also accepted. Please deliver your frozen casserole to the parish office by this coming Wednesday, September 21, at 9:00am.
The Brotherhood of the Lord of the Miracles of Pikesville will celebrate their annual Mass and Procession on Sunday, October 2, 2022 beginning at 1:00pm in the church. All are invited to join them for this traditional service which has been celebrated in Peru for over 400 years.
