Next weekend, at all Masses, Rev Raja Pilla will be speaking about the works and the needs of the Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum in India.
Trivandrum has about 270,000 Catholics. 90% of the people are traditional fishermen who depend on fishing for their livelihood and 10% are farm workers who are recent converts from low caste Hindus. Unemployment and poverty are most rampant in the community. The Archdiocese depends on outside assistance to support its clergy, seminarians, catechists and to continue its development programs. However, during this pandemic lockdown the situation is very pitiful as the fishermen are restricted from fishing which is their livelihood. With income halted from fishing, our people are struggling to support themselves. Recent Cyclone "Tauktae" that swept through the coastal villages in May 2021, destroyed hundreds of homes. We are looking for emergency assistance for food, medicine, and housing. Won't you be as generous as you can in the second collection? Your sacrifice for the missions is deeply appreciated.
Guild Quilt Raffle
Tickets are $1 each and available at the parish office and SOS store until September 30th. Drawing will be held on Oct 1st at the St. Mary's Bazaar. Tickets will also be available after Masses the weekends of Sept 11 and Sept 25.
If you did not receive your quilt tickets last weekend at Mass, please pick some up at the entrances to the church or at the parish office. Tickets and money can be turned in at the parish office, next weekend (Sept 24/25th) after Masses, or at the Fall Craft Bazaar, October 1st.

We are discussing the St Paul Center Bible Study video series on
The Bible and Virgin Mary.
A wonderful opportunity of learning about Mary who perhaps was only mentioned 15 times in the Bible compared to St. Peter who might have been mentioned 150 times.
This series is based off of Scott Hahn's book Hail, Holy Queen.
Dr. Hahn does a wonderful job pairing the Old Testament verses with the
New Testament and fulfilling the New Testament in the Old Testament.
