From the Principal's desk....

Dear Parents-

This past weekend was something! We kicked off the official building project with our Grand Opening celebration. If you were unable to attend, you can view a video here: https://youtu.be/4sAt_qtkmNM The students did a wonderful job of singing and representing our school. Thank you so much to all the families that made the extra effort to bring their children and show our parish that we are appreciative of their support. Thank you is not enough to show you all how much it means when you support the parish, the school, and our initiatives. Your participation is vital to the success of Divine Mercy Catholic Church and School!

Tomorrow night we experience another thrill as we watch our students sing the National Anthem at the Twins Game. Thank you to Suzette Kuklok for getting this event kicked off, and to Allie Luckow for organizing all the tickets, etc. Also, thank to you our parents for signing their children up to come along and sing. I am excited to see them on the field!

Please see the quick links to the side that addresses attendance. The video is very informative and has a lot of good information. This year, we will be working to tighten up how we manage attendance and want to make sure that all parents understand what an excused absence is and what an unexcused absence is. Our policy is pretty clear, and we are ‘back to normal’ as far as sick exclusion is concerned.

I am requesting your help in teaching our students proper safety around the crosswalk this year. Students are asked to wait for the patrols and cross in the marked crosswalk. It is very hard for us to teach this lesson when adults cross in the middle of the street and do not wait for the patrols. I understand that it will sometimes take you a minute or two more to wait and cross with the patrols, but I am asking you to be a good role model for children so that we can assure everyone’s safety. Thank you for your help in this endeavor.

As fall descends and we near the end of our first month of school, I want to thank all of you for partnering with us in the education of your child. We value this partnership greatly. God Bless!

Twins Tickets were sent home yesterday in your child’s backpack for those people who are driving separately.
Tickets for students riding the bus will be kept at school and distributed on the bus. The tickets have been separated and sorted by family members. So your student’s seat will be next to your seat.
Students riding the bus should be at school NO LATER THAN 4:00 PM. There will be (3) buses and students will be separated by last name (as will their tickets). So, please NO switching buses.
1. Bus A-J Leader = Mrs. Ashley
2. Bus K-P Leader = Mrs. Pemrick
3. Bus Q-Z Leader = Mrs. Kuklok
Parents are NOT allowed to accompany their student to the field.
Students should wear their ‘DMCS ROCKS” T-shirt with Khaki pants. Students may change into TWINS attire after returning from singing the Anthem. Please come prepared for the weather – bring a jacket or sweatshirt.

Here’s the schedule for the STUDENTS:

5:15PM-5:30PM – Arrive and meet outside on the grass at Target Field Station.

5:30PM-6:15PM – Assemble on the grass and rehearse.

~6:15PM – Enter the ballpark through Gate 6. Everyone needs to have a ticket to enter.

~6:52PM – take the field

6:57PM – National Anthem

If your child is riding home with you, please notify the Bus Leader (see above) before the end of the game.
Please remember that Twins Stadium does not allow for cash for any food, beverage or merchandise and plan accordingly
