Second Collection Sept. 24/25
We want to welcome everyone to St. Oscar Romero Parish. The Second Collection this weekend will be for the Bishop’s Education Fund.
Looking for Life Teen Core Team Members!
We are looking for volunteers to be part of our Life Teen Core Team! Responsibilities including helping with Life Teen every other Sunday night, from 6:30-8 p.m., starting on September 25! We cannot have this program without a Core Team! Please reach out to our new youth minister Rachael Kriger if interested at rkriger@romeroparish.org or 412-605-2384!
We are also accepting volunteers to help with EDGE Middle School, which is every other Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m., starting on September 28. Our immediate need is Life Teen, though!
Ministry Fair!
Religious Education K-6 Starts Sunday!
Religious Education K-6 begins on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 9:25-10:40 a.m. and Monday, Sept. 26 from 6-7:15 p.m. All classes will be held in the Faith Formation Building (formerly St. Patrick School). The catechists will be recognized at the
11 a.m. Mass on Sept. 25 at St. Patrick Church.
Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 8!
There will be a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 8-11 a.m. in the Miraculous Medal Banquet Hall.
New Mental Health Ministry
John & Jonna Murphy will begin the new St. Oscar Romero Parish Mental Health Ministry on Monday Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Meetings will be held weekly at the St. Patrick's Center - Dining and Sacred Heart Rooms. Using the "Sanctuary for Catholics" video series, they hope to increase awareness and understanding of the wide range of mental illnesses. If you or a family member would like to be more aware of mental health issues or are experiencing mental health challenges, please join us. Additional details are provided in the bulletin.
Grief Support Group to Begin
Losing a loved one can be one of the most difficult experiences we face in life. Often we feel like we are alone in our grief. Realizing this is a reality for many, our parish will sponsor a 5-week grief support group beginning Oct. 8. It will take place Saturdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart lounge in St. Patrick Center. For more information or to register, please contact the parish office.
Children's Choir starting in October!
Children’s Choir at St. Oscar Romero will begin in October. If you have a child in third grade to eighth grade who likes to sing, please consider joining. Refer to the bulletin for more information.

- Sept. 26 - Join us for The Chosen, Season 2, Episode 2, in the Miraculous Medal Banquet Hall at 7 p.m.
- Sept. 29 - Join us for a Holy Hour of Prayer, planned with the teachings of three Doctor Saints. We will meet at 7 p.m. in St. Patrick Church.
- Oct. 2 - Respect Life Sunday, Prayer chains after the 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses.
- Oct. 3 - St. Oscar Romero Parish's first Mental Health Ministry meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m at the St. Patrick's Center - Dining and Sacred Heart Rooms.
- Oct. 4 - Tuesday Nightingales Women's Book Club - 5:30 p.m. Trinity Point Panera Community Room.
- Oct. 5 - Christian Mothers and Women's Guild meeting - 6 p.m. Rosary in St. Patrick Church followed by a meeting in the cafeteria.
- Oct. 8 - There will be a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 8-11 a.m. in the Miraculous Medal Banquet Hall.
