Congratulations to Janet McLaughlin and Mike Bresnahan who were united in Holy Matrimony on Monday, Sept. 19 at St. Joseph's at Jump off Joe. Their wedding was officiated by Fr. Vincent with Chris and Walt Carpenter as witnesses.
Sign up for our Faith Night potluck this week!
Every Wednesday Faith Night has brought together at least 50 members of our parish communities to share a meal and grow in faith together. Thank you to all those who have attended so far. Everyone is welcome even if you can't make it every week. After dinner, the adult formation takes place in the church sanctuary where Father Vincent has been sharing a slideshow about his pilgrimage experiences. There's also Religious Education and Sacramental Prep available for kids of all ages. Thank you Kristin Paulson, Kellie Trudeau, Jessica Jeanneret and Kellie Tanner for stepping up to help teach. Also, thank you to Naomi Haden for babysitting the young ones so that all parents are able to attend the adult session as well. St. Mary's Altar Ministry served a wonderful spaghetti dinner this last week week and this next Faith Night will be a potluck where everyone is encouraged to bring a favorite dish to share. Let Kellie in the office know if you are able to help provide something. See you Wednesday!

Knights of Columbus Breakfast

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for bringing back their monthly pancake breakfast this weekend! They will host breakfast on the last Sunday of each month
after 10 a.m. mass in Chewelah. The Knights meet every second Wednesday of each month at
7 p.m. Contact Grand Knight Tony Hansen for more information.
All-Parish Faith Night
Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, 6 pm, St. Mary's
Every Wednesday there will be opportunities for dinner, religious education, and adult faith formation. Confession is available at 5 p.m. with mass at 5:30 p.m.
Final Sunday St. Joseph Mass for the Season
Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, 6 pm, St. Mary's
Fr. Vincent has celebrated Mass at St. Joseph's at Jump Off Joe every Sunday this summer. The Oct. 2 mass will be the final one for the season. The 8 a.m. Mass will return to Holy Ghost in Valley on Oct. 9. However, the 8:30 a.m. Monday mass will continue to be celebrated at St. Joseph's.
Annual Catholic Appeal 2022
Commitment Sunday

Dear Parishioners,
It is that time of year for the Spokane Diocese's Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) and this weekend is "Commitment Sunday" to kick off ACA 2022. Please donate to help our parishes reach their goals.
The Catholic Church here in Eastern Washington is home to communities of many dedicated lay people, committed volunteers, and hardworking priests, deacons, and religious orders. By supporting the Annual Catholic Appeal, you are showing your support for the works of our diocese – and you are strengthening our faith as the body of Christ.
It’s through these ministries and services that we continue the work toward the mission of the Catholic Church in Eastern Washington. The support of each one of us is essential for the realization of our diocesan mission. Please prayerfully consider a gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal. Your support will help us continue the vital ministries that Christ himself is calling us to do.
As you may realize each parish is assigned an ACA goal that is based on a percentage of the annual collections for each parish. The goals for our parishes are as follows: St. Mary’s $23,225, Holy Ghost $5,675 and Sacred Heart $2,746. If the goal is not reached then the remainder is taken out of our ordinary income. I understand that St. Mary’s did not meet their ACA last year and we had to make that up from our operating expenses. I would hope that St. Mary’s will make its goal this year. I thank the other parishes for making their goal last year and do hope they can make their goals again for 2022.
These are the ACA beneficiaries: Office of the Bishop, Vocations Office, Priest Retirement, Diocese of Spokane Seminarians, Catholic Schools Office (directs and supports our Catholic parochial schools), Campus Ministry - Newman Centers on EWU and WSU, Parish and School Support, Hispanic Ministry, Vietnamese Ministry, Native American Missions of the Diocese of Spokane, Office of Evangelization, Office of Communications, Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, Jail/Prison Ministry, Tribunal, Administrative costs/staffing at the chancery.
Please be generous! Everyone registered with the Diocese should have received an envelope to mail in a donation. Brochures are also available at each parish. You can drop that in the mail or in the collection basket at mass. Also donate online at www.dioceseofspokane.org/make-a-donation
