Parish Celebration and Bishop Konderla’s visit
on the 8th of October
Our parish community will celebrate our parish feast day on the 8th of October 2022 with a votive Mass and social activities. It will also be an excellent opportunity for the entire parish to welcome Fr. Gabriel and Fr. Alessandro, who help us with the Extra Ordinary Form of Mass. Our bishop, The Most Rev. D. Konderla, has agreed to be the principal celebrant of the Mass. The day will also allow our bishop to exercise his annual parish visitation. The Mass, Parish celebration and reception of our two hardworking priests will begin at 5:00 pm on Saturday 8th of October, 2022.
A committee comprising those attending the Ordinary Form of Mass and the Extra Ordinary Form of Mass is already working hard on the significant events. It will be one Mass, but we shall pray the different parts in Latin and English. The Mass will be a Novus Ordo Mass. Arrangements are being made for the two singing groups (Latin and English) to sing at the Mass.
This is one of those opportunities when we gather as one people, one parish. We chose Saturday so our brethren who enjoy the Extra Ordinary Form of Mass could still attend Mass the next day, Sunday, the 9th of October. Please, I appeal to everyone, whether you attend the Latin Mass or the English Mass, to attend so we can pray with our bishop, welcome our new priests, and celebrate who we are – believers that Christ redeemed us and the world by His Holy Cross.
I look forward to seeing everyone.
Devotedly yours in Christ,
Very Rev. Leo Ahanotu
