This Sunday is Respect Life Sunday, and so we pray...
Heavenly Father, the beauty and dignity of human life was the crowning of your creation. You further ennobled that life when your Son became one with us in his incarnation. Help us to realize the sacredness of human life and to respect it from the moment of conception until the last moment at death. Give us courage to speak with truth and love and with conviction in defense of life. Help us to extend the gentle hand of mercy and forgiveness to those who do not reverence your gift of life. To all, grant pardon for the times we have failed to be grateful for your precious gift of life or to respect it in others. We ask this in Jesus' Name.

In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis, Fr. Canisius will bless all of God's creatures tomorrow (10/1) at 10:00am sharp in the courtyard between the church and the rectory. In the event of bad weather the blessing will take place in the rectory basement. We welcome everyone to bring your pets (on leashes or in cages) to receive a special blessing. Please arrive a few minutes early so you don't miss the blessing at 10:00am.
October is the month of the Holy Rosary and of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please join the members of our Legion of Mary after the 8:30am Mass every Sunday in October as they gather in the church for the recitation of the Holy Rosary. K of C RAFFLE
The St. Charles Borromeo Council of the Knights of Columbus is selling raffle tickets after all Masses this weekend, October 1st & 2nd. Proceeds support Maryland Knights charities and the local council's support of seminarians. First prize is $20,000 cash!
The Brotherhood of the Lord of the Miracles of Pikesville will celebrate their annual Mass (en espanol) this Sunday, October 2nd at 1:00pm in the church. All are invited to join them for this traditional service which has been celebrated in Peru for over 400 years.
Fall Clean Up is Here!
Come join us for our fall clean up of the parish grounds next Saturday, October 8th from 9:00am until noon. The more hands, the more we are able to accomplish. Please bring your work gloves, hand clippers, rake, etc. We can provide volunteer hours for those who need hours for school. Sacramental Preparation
Preparation classes for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist begin next Saturday, October 8th, 12:30-1:30pm in the rectory, and continue on the second Saturday of each month through April. Spiritual Adoption Program
St. Charles' annual Spiritual Adoption program begins next weekend, 10/8 & 10/9, at all masses. We hope that everyone will be able to participate in this important prayer ministry for the unborn and their parents. If you cannot attend Mass, please call Jeanette at 443-416-6626 and a prayer card will be mailed to you.

Police departments across the United States are joining together with faith communities to reinforce the connections between law enforcement and the citizens that they serve. This year Pikesville Precinct 4 of the Baltimore County Police Department has once again chosen to partner with the people of St. Charles parish to serve our neighbors in need, during the Annual Faith & Blue event. The officers and support staff of the Precinct that directly serves and protects us at St. Charles are promoting a food drive to stock our Parish Food Pantry. You can help by bringing canned goods and non-perishable food items for the Pantry when you come to Mass on Faith & Blue Weekend (10/8-10/9). Italian Dinner

Help us celebrate the Feast of St. Charles Borromeo (Archbishop of Milan) by joining us for an Italian Dinner! St. Charles will be hosting an Italian Dinner on Saturday, November 5th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the St. Gabriel Community Center (6950 Dogwood Rd., Windsor Mill, 21244). Menu, pricing, and reservation information will be coming soon. Carry-out will be available. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, to work in the kitchen, and to help serve the meal. Tuesday, November 1st is the Solemnity of All Saints, a Holy Day of Obligation.
Masses on 11/1 will be offered at 7:30am, 12:10pm, and 7:30pm.
As part of our parish observance of The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls), Mass will be celebrated at 7:30pm on Wednesday, November 2nd. We will remember especially all those who were buried from St. Charles over the past year by lighting a candle in their memory. All are invited to attend, and anyone who wishes may bring a candle to place in front of the altar in memory of a loved one.
All Souls Novena
You are also invited to write the name(s) of your friend(s) and/or family member(s) who have died this past year on your All Souls’ Day envelopes, and turn them in with your offering by Sunday, October 30th for inclusion in our Novena of Masses which begins on 11/2. Envelopes are in your monthly packet or are available in the church vestibule. You may also email the names of your loved ones to us at charlesst@comcast.net, call the parish office, or send them via US mail. Your novena donation may be mailed to the Parish Office or offered via online giving at our website www.ourstcharles.org/give (just select “All Souls Day” as the Fund for your donation.)
