St. Thérèse's Feast Day

Though she lived a quiet, hidden life in her province of France and never left the convent which she entered at age 15, St. Thérèse has become one of the most well-known saints in the Catholic Church. Dying at the age of 24, her autobiography Story of a Soul became a bestseller and her miraculous intercessions have been documented around the world.
Popularly known as "the Little Flower," St. Thérèse of Lisieux, or Thérèse of the Child Jesus, taught us that small acts done with great love are what's needed to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Seeing the world as a child (being childlike, not childish) is exalted by Christ himself, for then we live dependent on God the Father as the center of our lives and can be joyfully detached in this life as we prepare for the next.

Anointing of the Sick
Join us Friday, October 7th following the 8 am daily Mass in the church for Anointing of the Sick.
We are excited to announce a parish-wide Fall Dinner and Dance that will be held on Saturday, October 8th from 5PM until 10PM in the Parish Hall at St. Mark.
This event is being sponsored by the Catholic Daughters and Knights of Columbus of our parish. All proceeds will go to local charities such as Youth on Their Own, Pio Decimo, and Reachout Women’s Center which our organizations support.
Tickets for this event will be $15.00 per person which will include snacks, a lasagna dinner, and one free drink. We will also have some beautiful baskets to raffle off. Saturday, October 15, 2022, is the date for the Arizona Rosary Celebration. The celebration, held at Saint Augustine Cathedral, 192 South Stone Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85701, runs from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Most Reverend Edward Weisenburger, Bishop of Tucson, will preside. Reverend James Phalan, C.S.C., National Director of Family Rosary and a Member of the Congregation of Holy Cross Family Ministries, will be the keynote speaker. Be part of the largest continuous annual Catholic Rosary gathering in the United States. This year marks its 47th year in Arizona & 12th in the Diocese of Tucson. Ministers. They will bring communion to any parishioners who are in the hospital either at Oro Valley or Northwest Hospital. Any parishioner or their family member are to call St. Mark office at 520-469-7835 and let them know that they or a family member would like to receive communion.
The office will ask for the patient's name and room number and a member of the Hospital Ministry team will bring communion to them the following day.
Visits will be provided Monday through Friday. If you are a Eucharist Minister and would like to join this new ministry please notify Diane Guertin for training at diane.m.guertin@gmail.com.

55+ Gamers are now the 50+ Gamers and we have new meeting days for the month of October, which are October 14th & October 21st!
Welcome, all 50+ and older who enjoy playing card games, board games, dominoes, etc. Basically, whatever is fun. The group has obtained several games over the years so we have a great assortment of games to choose from or a member may bring a favorite game of their own that they think would be enjoyable to all. Our games will be held in the Parish Hall from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the first and third Friday of the month beginning in November. You may participate for all or part of that time frame. Come all the time or come once in a while. We ask that you bring your own snacks and beverages or bring a snack to share with others. Masks are strongly encouraged for unvaccinated participants.
