Praise, Worship, and Healing Zoom Meeting
All parishioners and friends of St. Francis are invited to participate in a virtual Praise, Worship, and Healing service via Zoom. We all are in need of prayer; whether it's for a family member, friend, or ourselves, and we're all in need of healing. Intercessory prayers we pray every day, but this virtual session is all about having an encounter with Jesus. Jesus, during His lifetime and ministry, healed everyone and He still does today!!! Let us all be like blind Bartimaeus and be ready to answer when Jesus asks us, "What do you want Me to do for you?" (Mark 10:46-52)

This service will be conducted by recent graduates of the Encounter School of Ministry, two of whom are from St. Francis. This service is all about how the Holy Spirit is working in our lives and leading us ever closer to Jesus Christ.

Online Prayer Requests
Did you know you can submit your prayer requests online? If people only put their prayer intentions in the book in the church, those needs will sit for a week before being added to the prayer list. The online requests are added and sent out as soon as they're received and the prayer ministry begins praying for those intentions. So...DON'T WAIT!!! Parish Leader Meeting
All those who lead a small group at St. Francis are invited to join the monthly Parish Leader Meeting on Thursday, October 6 in Room 5 from 9:45 (after Mass) until 11:30. The topic for this month is Spiritual Renewal and the Catholic Charismatic Movement. The Parish Leader group meets monthly to support small group leaders by addressing three areas: spiritual formation, catechesis, and leadership skills. All are welcome to join the meeting. That Man is You
Meetings have begun for That Man is You but all men of all ages at St. Francis are still invited to participate in a 13-week series of gatherings. They will focus on faith and fellowship and will include a meal. Meetings are on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. "That Man Is You!" Is an engaging program for fathers, veterans, working, and retired men and every man in between!

That Man is You! registration cards will be in the vestibule of the church starting September 3rd. Any male parishioner interested is asked to complete one of the cards and leave it in the basket. This is mainly to help determine the quantity of food needed for the gathering. Registration cards should NOT be mailed in but dropped off at the office or put in with the collection at Mass. Name, phone number or email address are all that's needed on the card.
All Saints Trunk or Treat
On Sunday October 30th 4PM-6PM, we will have an All Saints Trunk or Treat! We need people to volunteer to decorate their vehicle trunks with Holy Themes (Saint inspired, Church inspired, etc) and pass out candy and Saint Prayer Cards to our little saints! If interested in volunteering, for decoration/costume ideas, or for more information, please email Ashley Shepherd at ashlmurr@gmail.com.
Meals for the Youth Group
When our Youth Group meets for fellowship part of that is the sharing of a meal! We are inviting everyone to join in donating a dinner for the youth group. If you are interested please contact zurjesus1@hotmail.com

The Youth Bake Sale was originally set October 8 & 9 but has been changed to October 22 & 23.
St. Clare's Memorial Garden
We are repairing the walkway in St. Clare’s Memorial Garden. The current stone path is breaking apart making the walkway unsafe. To help with the expense, we are sponsoring a “Buy a Brick Program.” You may purchase a permanent, commemorative, brick for the walkway to remember your loved ones. Each brick will be engraved with the message you choose. Due to the high demand for the 12x12 bricks, we have changed the design. You may choose from a 12x12 for $500, an 8x8 for $300 and 4x8 for $100. For more information, please contact the office 706-745-6400
Blessing of the Pets
We will have the Blessing of Pets at 11:30, October 4th on the Feast of St. Francis followed by a Communion Service.

Care for Creation
This coming weekend is not only food pantry weekend but is also the end of the Season of Creation which officially ends on the feast day of Saint Francis, October 4. Along with your donation of non-perishable food and/or personal hygiene items, please consider making an additional donation of cat and dog food, cat litter etc. Mountain Presbyterian Church accepts all of these items at their food pantry.

A note to the family
Dear Pro-life Family, The other day at Ingles, a lady in front of me at the checkout line and I were discussing the death penalty. Her point was that it saves money for the State when people are executed. I have actually heard this comment more than once. SO, that afternoon, I got out my computer and Googled, " Is the death penalty more expensive than life in prison." Of course, several sites came up immediately. Would you like to read a lengthy and studious paper on this topic?
I recommend a site called ballot-edit.org/factcheck is the death penalty more expensive than life in prison. IF you don't want to read all that, let me summarize with their conclusion: Studies of Capital punishment show that executing a prisoner is always more expensive than the cost of life in prison.
The actual amount spent/saved varies from State to State. So the point that executing a person on death row is cheaper than them living lives in prison is not accurate. IfI see that nice person at Ingels, I will share with her what I have learned. Annie Grace agbassage@gmail.com

The baby has shed most of the waxy and downy covering of hair that protected her skin for most of the pregnancy. By the end of this week, she will most likely be in a “head-down” position, which gets her ready for delivery. Mom may choose to eat smaller meals now because eating more can be uncomfortable.

Why Go to Adoration
The Saints that we honor and ask intercession from are the Catholic Church's Hall of Fame. They are proof for us that every Saint had a past and every sinner has a future. If you have a favorite photo, painting, icon of your patron saint and would like to donate it to St Francis, we are creating a "Hall" of Fame in the administration building. Pictures should not exceed 9 x 12 inches in total size, including a frame. Pictures may be delivered to the Adult Faith Formation office.
